Preludes is a collection of twelve short pieces for solo piano. The collection includes character pieces, musical moments, fragments, and even interruptions like Nos. 5a and 5b. The guiding principle behind the preludes was to remain true to the music and capture the authentic nature of each composition. The collection is flexible and allows for the entire suite or select groups of preludes to be performed. All twelve preludes were premiered by Dr. Timothy Hoft on 18 July 2023, at the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, MD.
